Job Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide valuable input on student progress and goals.
  • Educate and train teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Florida.
  • Certification from the Florida Department of Education as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
