Janitorial Services Associate

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Janitorial Services Associate to join our team at Melwood in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly wage of $17.50 per hour.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. This includes sweeping and moping hallways, stairs, and offices, emptying wastebaskets and disposing of trash, dusting horizontal surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, waxing and buffing floors with prescribed buffers, cleaning glass and windows, washing walls and other vertical surfaces, sweeping and clearing snow from outside steps and sidewalks, polishing kick panels, doorknobs, and other designated fixtures, stripping and waxing floors, vacuuming rugs, mixing cleaning solutions, and maintaining issued equipment. You will also be required to notify your supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.
To be successful in this role, you must have three to six months of training or experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. You must also be able to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check, government security clearance, and drug testing. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and can work effectively as part of a team. They must also be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. With regular breaks, the incumbent must stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%.
