Data Protection and Export Control Specialist
Job Summary
Advantage Technical is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection and Export Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with ITAR regulations and maintaining the highest standards of data protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Classification and Compliance
- Assign Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and regional trade-related-codes to primary and secondary products imported and exported in the normal course of business.
- Work with key internal stakeholders in the review of related data and agreements to ensure compliance.
- Data Protection
- Serve as the primary contact and liaison for technical Data Protection tagging within Teamcenter.
- Assign classification of products using (a) the EAR and the CCL, (b) informed compliance publications, and (c) company engineering materials.
- Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with the Information Security function(s) to maintain records of all data assets and exports and maintain database.
- Support various stages of audits and assessments.
Requirements
- 4-6 years' experience in either Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, Controlled Unclassified Information, or Export Compliance experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Preferred proficiency in analyzing technical data including engineering drawings.
- Extensive Classification experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ITAR, Department of Commerce Licensing, Customs regulations, EAR, Export & Licensing regulations, Oracle.
- Requirements and maintenance of conditions issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Work with Engineering, Product management and Supply Chain to properly assign HTS Codes, ECCN and Country of origin for all our fabricated and purchased parts.
- Experience collaborating across markets and functions.
