Skating Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Skating Instructor to join our team at the City of Lakeville, MN. As a Skating Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality skating lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels.

• Develop and implement engaging and challenging skating lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse participants.
• Provide expert instruction and guidance to participants, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the lesson.
• Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Collaborate with other skating instructors and program staff to ensure a cohesive and effective skating program.
• Maintain accurate records of participant progress and lesson plans.

• Previous experience as a Learn to Skate instructor or equivalent experience in figure skating and learn to skate programming.
• Knowledge of the Learn to Skate USA progression program and ability to teach in accordance with this program.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with participants, parents, and program staff.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Availability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.

• Membership in a recognized figure skating organization, such as the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) or the Ice Skating Institute (ISI).
• Experience working with children and adults with varying skill levels and abilities.
• Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
