Position Overview: The Landfill Gas Operations Manager will spearhead and develop a team of landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) technicians dedicated to the routine operation and maintenance (O&M) of GCCS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee O&M at landfill flare stations and troubleshoot system components.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring as part of air permitting programs.
  • Collect and maintain sensitive data, providing comprehensive data reports.
  • Manage both internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors.
  • Facilitate regular communications with the team and management.
  • Support air program engineers and environmental managers in addressing regulatory issues related to LFG/GCCS operations.
  • Supervise and mentor LFG Technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (HS Diploma/GED with five years of relevant experience).
  • A minimum of five years of experience in landfill gas GCCS O&M, project management, engineering, or construction.
  • Preferred certifications: LFG Technician Certificate and HDPE pipe fusion certification.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven technical project management abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on professional growth.
  • Exceptional reporting skills and the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Knowledge of GCCS design, construction, and operation.
  • Understanding of relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to optimize GCCS performance.
  • Familiarity with landfill gas collection and combustion devices.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Experience with blower/flare operations and environmental compliance.
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and electrical systems preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
