Job Summary

The Recreation and Life Skills Specialist will design and implement individual and group recreation and skills development experiences for youth in our Limited Secure Placement program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide recreation and skills development programs for youth
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on program development and implementation
  • Consult with staff on the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills
  • Work flexible hours to ensure robust programming seven days a week
  • Meet or exceed ACS Quality Assurance Standards for the position
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year experience working with at-risk youth and leading recreation and/or afterschool programs
  • Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and group facilitation experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Must complete initial Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Training and refresher SCM trainings every six months
