Point of Care Specialist

As a key member of the University Health System- San Antonio team, the Point of Care Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of point-of-care testing performed by non-laboratory staff, ensuring regulatory compliance in the Clinical laboratories.
Key Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in medical technology or an appropriate biological medical science is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field can be substituted with a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical laboratory testing. The successful candidate must have completed a structured clinical program (CAHEA approved) and have a minimum of two years of experience in laboratory testing. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Access, Excel, and other spreadsheet and Microsoft applications, are also essential. Additionally, certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Certification Agency (NCA) or equivalent is required.
