Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Art Studio Technician to join our team at Alfred University. The successful candidate will provide technical support for faculty and students in the Drawing, Printmaking, Painting, and Photography areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to students and faculty in the art studios, including equipment operation, software usage, and troubleshooting.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair art equipment, including printers, cameras, and other specialized tools.
  • Studio Operations: Oversee the daily operation of the art studios, including setup, maintenance, and cleanup.
  • Instructional Support: Provide instructional support to students, including demonstrations, workshops, and one-on-one assistance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment in the art studios, including compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree or relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience: Three to five years of work experience in an art and design educational environment preferred.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Adobe Suite, MS Office, Mac computers, large format printers, and experience in networking computers. Familiarity with photographic equipment, including enlargers, standard and digital cameras, lighting equipment, digital technologies, and exposing units.
Working Conditions

The Art Studio Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to students and faculty in the art studios. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
