Sterile Processing Technician II Job Description

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team in Waltham. As a key member of our Patient Services-Central Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport and restock surgical instrumentation and medical materials in designated areas.
  • Receive, sort, clean, and decontaminate reusable instruments and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning and decontamination equipment.
  • Inspect, prepare, and sterilize surgical instruments and materials.
  • Assemble trays and packets of instruments and medical supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Answer departmental telephones and respond to customer requests.
Requirements:
  • Certification of Sterile/Central Processing.
  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in Sterile Processing.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and power surgical instruments.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
