24 or 36 hours per week, 6:45am to 7:15pm
The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing patient comfort and safety by assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities, as well as monitoring vital signs. This position also involves preparing treatment areas to ensure a safe environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored care that considers the age and specific needs of each patient, ensuring their understanding and comfort.
Provide individualized service and support, while maintaining excellent communication with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Respond promptly and courteously to patient requests and needs.
Gather feedback from patients regarding their experiences and relay any concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Assist in executing clinical tasks outlined in the patient's care plan, addressing comfort and activity needs as directed by professional staff.
Ensure cleanliness and comfort for patients, reporting any changes in their condition to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and care provided.
Complete documentation in a timely manner to ensure a comprehensive record of patient care.
- Contribute to a clean and safe patient care environment through housekeeping duties.
Perform daily cleaning tasks according to established protocols and maintain an organized workspace.
- Recognize and implement safety measures to ensure efficient patient care.
Respond to call lights and assist patients as needed, ensuring all duties are covered in the absence of team members.
- Support the healthcare team by preparing exam rooms and managing medical equipment.
Ensure that all clinical areas are well-stocked and organized to facilitate patient care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of a state-approved Nurse Assistant course or relevant experience is required.
- Previous experience in customer service or patient care settings is advantageous.
Orientation and training will be provided to familiarize candidates with hospital procedures.
