Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Penn State University. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including heating and cooling equipment, coils, and auxiliary components.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating, cleaning, and replacing filters and coils.
• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, controls, and wiring.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drill presses, saws, and hoists.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience in a related field, such as HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
• Equivalent to 1-3 years of applied trades training.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Work Schedule:
• 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Days Off:
• Saturday, Sunday
Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a medical clearance.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties.
