Job Summary

We seek a dynamic and experienced English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 3 50-minute English blocks and 1 1-hour intervention block each day, implementing Common Core State Standards-aligned and Science of Reading-aligned curriculum, and assessing student achievement using various means.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English language arts to students in grades K-5, using a personalized and project-based approach.
  • Implement Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons and facilitate self-directed learning (SDL) time to promote students' emotional intelligence and academic success.
  • Collaborate with Mandarin Chinese co-teachers to develop and deliver integrated curriculum that meets the needs of bilingual students.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs, using data to inform teaching practices.
  • Use educational technology to support instruction, develop and deliver content, and track student progress.
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Provide support and accommodations for students with diverse needs, including English language learners and students with IEPs.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • California teaching credential or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English language arts in grades K-5, preferably in a bilingual or multilingual setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Common Core State Standards and Science of Reading principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with students, families, and school stakeholders.
