Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services (CHOR YFS) is seeking dedicated Youth Counselors to provide vital support and guidance to residents in our Mathom House & Easton Manor Programs. Our residential treatment facilities, located in Bucks County, PA, are committed to delivering responsive and innovative care to adolescent males through a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates counseling, education, recreation, and life skills instruction.
We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time Youth Counselor positions. The program operates 24/7, requiring rotational shift work (8:00am-4:00pm; 4:00pm-12:00am; 12:00am-8:00am). Assigned shifts may vary, allowing for flexible part and full-time schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate trusting relationships with residents through counseling, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Ensure the safety and security of residents and the facility.
- Supervise residents during academic instruction, recreational activities, community outings, and common areas.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and case managers to establish residential behavioral goals.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and reports to document residents' progress toward behavioral goals.
- Receive training in accordance with our structured program policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of college in a social or human services related field OR: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years working with youth.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must pass criminal history (including FBI) and child abuse history clearances.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
