Job Title: Lecturer in Mathematics

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer in Mathematics to join our team at the University of Vermont. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate level, complementing existing teaching expertise within the department and the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a broad range of mathematics courses, including majors in the mathematical sciences and students outside of the STEM fields.
  • Actively engage with students inside and outside the classroom, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies, including active learning and project-based learning.
  • Contribute to the missions of the department and the university, including academic advising and service.
Requirements:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior experience teaching mathematics is essential, with prior experience or willingness to teach in hybrid or online formats a plus.
  • Experience mentoring students at the undergraduate level is preferred.
