The University of Missouri-Columbia is actively seeking a dedicated full-time faculty member to join the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. We are looking for candidates who possess outstanding clinical abilities and a keen interest in education. Position Highlights:

  • Clinical Responsibilities: 8 clinic sessions weekly
  • Faculty Composition: 9 members
    • 2 Advanced practice providers
  • Support Staff:
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) support
    • 2 on-site diabetes educators
    • Certified dietitian with pump certification
  • On-Call Duties: 1 in 6, home call rotation
  • Hospital Affiliation:
    • 400-bed tertiary referral center
    • Level I trauma center
    • Ellis Fischel Cancer Center

Educational Environment

  • Robust Endocrinology fellowship program with a track record of academic excellence, producing three fellows annually
  • Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency programs with approximately 80 residents combined
  • School of Medicine with 128 students per class

Research Opportunities

  • NIH-funded research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, focusing on vascular remodeling, repair, and regeneration; bioenergetics; heart failure; precision nutrition; and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
  • The NextGen Precision Health building, a cutting-edge 265,000-square-foot facility, is designed to enhance research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders
  • Current clinical trials are conducted in the clinics and the Clinical Research Center, which supports both inpatient and outpatient trials, along with a Clinical Translational Sciences Unit under development

Organizational Structure

  • The Division of Endocrinology is one of ten academic divisions within the Department of Medicine
  • University Hospital is located on the main campus, providing easy access to collaboration with other departments, including Medical Pharmacology and Physiology, and Nutrition and Exercise Physiology
  • The School of Medicine and University Physicians maintain a strong partnership with MU Health Care, overseen by the Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs
