Job Summary
The Department of Biology at Appalachian State University invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure-track position as an Introductory Biology Teaching Professor to start in Fall 2024. This individual will contribute to the continued development of a progressive introductory biology program.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach first semester introductory courses for biology majors and non-majors, with a teaching load of 12 hours per semester.
- Develop and update introductory laboratory curricula to reflect best practices in biology education.
- Contribute to program assessment and serve on the Introductory Biology Steering Committee.
- Provide undergraduate academic advising and participate in departmental activities.
