Payroll Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Supervisor to join our team at York County, VA. As a key member of our Finance Administration department, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our payroll system, supervising Payroll Coordinators, and performing complex analytical work in the Division of Fiscal Accounting Services.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze employee payroll records and related payments and withholdings
- Provide assistance to supervisors and auditors in the proper entries for the electronic time and attendance system
- Prepare and submit reports, forms, and invoices for payment to various governmental agencies
- Maintain and update a variety of records and files, including accounting payroll data
- Determine payroll procedures and associated internal controls
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in government accounting, payroll, and some supervisory work
- Experience in Munis HR/Payroll software and Ultimate Kronos Group timekeeping software is preferred
- Valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Acceptable background and credit check
The work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. The employee must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and perform tasks that require stooping or bending.
