About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmology RN to join our team at American Vision Partners. As a key member of our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan patient care using the nursing process, taking into account individual patient needs and preferences.
  • Prepare the operating suite for patients, ensuring cleanliness, assembling supplies, and checking equipment for proper functioning.
  • Assist Anesthesia Providers and Surgeons during procedures, maintaining constant awareness of the operative situation and a safe environment for patients and personnel.
  • Evaluate, observe, and treat patients under local anesthesia, maintaining accurate and complete records of patients' surgical experience.
  • Start IVs, administer medications, and prepare drugs and solutions per physician protocols, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Prepare for and manage immediate postoperative care, including transporting patients to the recovery room, communicating patient needs, and providing patient and family training.
  • Assist in the orientation of new team members and cross-training of existing personnel, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN License.
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English highly preferred.
  • 1-year Ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ASC experience preferred.
  • Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
