Job DescriptionSchedule:

This position requires a potential weekend rotation of 2 Saturdays per month, based on operational needs.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Administers a variety of non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology.
2. Provides excellent diagnostic echo images, correct views, and accurate measurements for Transthoracic Echoes, Stress Echoes, Bubble studies, and Definity Studies.
3. Reports abnormalities to the physician promptly.
4. Clarifies and follows Doctor's orders.
5. Completes work within an acceptable time frame.
6. Assesses patients for potential risk factors.
7. Assumes accountability for managing patient care and safety.
8. Promotes and maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
9. Appropriately educates and explains procedures to patients.
10. Follows department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the Cardiologist.
11. Insures proper identification of patient.
12. Provides for patient privacy.
13. Acts as a patient advocate and upholds patient rights.
14. Responds effectively in an emergency situation.
15. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
16. Documents patient history and demographics in ProSolv.
17. Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
18. Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.
19. Employs tasking appropriately and timely.
20. Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.
21. Ensures equipment is in acceptable conditions by conducting routine quality control.

Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:

0-1 years of experience required; 2-4 years of experience preferred.

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.

Working knowledge and operation of Cardiac Ultrasound and Cardiac Testing Equipment required.

Recognition of Cardiac Dysrhythmias required.

Understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology required.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills required.

Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.

Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window-based environment preferred.

Experience with Standard Cardiac Testing and Cardiac Ultrasound Equipment preferred.

Experience with MUSE system preferred.

Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
