Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Operate CT scanners to obtain high-quality images, manipulate images according to protocols, and perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast media to patients according to protocols, ensuring safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), verify and segment images at the Quality Control (QC) station, and complete, modify, and/or cancel orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, creating and keeping documentation of incidents, and precepting new employees and students.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligibility, with advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
  • Prior education, training, and experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 36 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.
