Role Summary:
The Laboratory Director is responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing all operations within the Laboratory department. This role ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and guarantees that supplies and equipment are adequately stocked. The Director plays a crucial role in integrating the laboratory efficiently with other hospital departments. Additionally, the position involves developing and managing the departmental budget, promoting continuous performance improvement, participating in mandatory meetings, and fostering educational growth among staff members, ensuring completion of required annual evaluations and competencies.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology is required.
Certification: Candidates must possess certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or an equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of leadership experience in a laboratory environment is essential.
