Job Title: Infant / Toddler / Preschool Teacher

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and be able to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Assume responsibility for the classroom, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Provide responsive caregiving, including diapering, feeding, and soothing.
  • Support the Supervisor in maintaining a high-quality program that adheres to state licensing codes and NAEYC standards.
  • Document children's developmental growth through assessments, observations, and reports.
  • Communicate with parents through regular conferences and updates.
  • Model positive behavior, attitude, and language for children and colleagues.
  • Attend training workshops and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices.

Requirements:

  • Working towards an AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Development, Human Development, or a related field.
  • 24 units in child development and 3 Infant/Toddler units.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Current immunization shots, including MMR, Tdap, TB test, and Influenza Shot or waiver.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-year experience working with children or 6 months in an infant room.
  • Experience in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum for young children.
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing Title 22 and NAEYC criteria and regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds and be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
