About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Lochner. As a key member of our infrastructure services team, you will be responsible for delivering technically excellent designs for bridges, retaining walls, and other structures needed for surface transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, and sub-consultants to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop structural designs, including bridges, retaining walls, and other structures, and prepare all necessary contract documentation for surface transportation projects.
  • Assist the project manager with maintaining project documentation, schedule, budgets, scope, and coordination.
  • Support proposal presentations and business development activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Participate with local associations and organizations to support new business opportunities and build relationships with local municipalities.
Requirements
  • 4-year Civil Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with experience in bridge design.
  • Washington PE certification and Washington SE certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience in structural drafting with open roads and proficiency in structural design software, such as PYWall/LPile, LARSA 4D, Mathcad, CSI Bridge, Leap Bridge Concrete, and MDX.
  • Bentley MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads experience preferred.
  • Collaborative and able to work independently or with a team.
