Position Summary

The role involves operating manufacturing machinery as instructed while strictly following all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret job specifications to determine necessary machine settings and material needs.
  • Adjust stops or guides to specified measurements as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify product defects or equipment issues.
  • Inspect products for inconsistencies or abnormal characteristics to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Collaborate with fellow operators to set up machines and assist with tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the designated work area.
  • Perform additional duties related to the job as assigned, either temporarily or permanently.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or at least one month of relevant experience in trades pertinent to job responsibilities; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience operating specific block machinery is preferred.
  • Capability to read and comprehend documents such as safety guidelines, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Competence in addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all work assignments.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is required to stand for extended periods while performing job duties.
  • Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs, or up to 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.
