Job Summary

The Horsham Center for Jewish Life is seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a creative and dynamic recreation program that meets the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality activity programs that cater to the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify patient needs and preferences, and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients, families, and staff.
  • Manage and operate within budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and staff to promote a positive and supportive environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in care.
Requirements
  • 1 year of recreation experience in a Personal Care Unit (preferably) within the last 5 years.
  • Prior experience with geriatrics is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including late afternoons and weekends.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in Personal Care Facilities.
  • Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to: patient rights, safety and sanitation.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Understands and follows company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to the Horsham Center's Code of Conduct.
