Learning Designer

Rasmussen University is seeking a skilled Learning Designer to join our team. As a Learning Designer, you will play a critical role in enhancing the educational experiences of our online students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-quality online courses using modern learning theories and instructional design principles.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging and effective learning materials.
  • Develop multimedia content, including videos, interactive activities, simulations, and assessments.
  • Utilize e-learning authoring tools to create interactive content.
  • Ensure content is accessible and adheres to best practices in online education.
  • Use learning management systems to build and organize course materials.
  • Integrate educational technologies and platforms to enhance the learning experience.
  • Analyze learner data and feedback to inform course improvements.
  • Review and revise course materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with course competencies.
  • Provide course content support to students and faculty as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, training, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in designing and developing online courses for higher education.
  • Experience with online learning management systems (Blackboard, D2L, Moodle, etc.).
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, H5P, or similar.
  • Quality Matters (QM) certification or experience with QM standards preferred.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design models and theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, backward design).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and ensuring course materials are accessible to all learners.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable to new technologies and tools.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
