Role Summary:
This position involves collaborating with physicians to provide comprehensive care and education to oncology patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the physical and emotional well-being of patients through interviews, health histories, physical assessments, and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and blood products based on lab results and clinical protocols.
- Assess patient eligibility for clinical trials based on clinical findings.
- Interpret diagnostic results and communicate findings to the supervising physician.
- Administer prescribed therapies and collect specimens as necessary.
- Document patient care activities, including history, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
- Support families in navigating the emotional challenges associated with cancer care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide on-call coverage and conduct hospital rounds as required.
- Prioritize patient evaluations based on urgency.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Stay adaptable and open to learning in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Assist in community outreach and education regarding cancer treatment options.
- Oversee work assignments and ensure completion of tasks.
- Comply with all regulations related to patient privacy and rights.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including IT and disaster recovery protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Safeguard patient and employee confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in training new staff members.
- Be prepared to work at various company locations as needed.
- Be available for overtime as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree.
Licensure:
Current APRN or PA license in the relevant state with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply.
Certifications:
Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P) and BLS certification.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience as an APRN or PA in the field of Oncology.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with sensitive information and manage conflicts with diplomacy.
Communication: Proficient in English with strong oral and written communication skills.

Self-Management: Ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Travel Requirements:
Less than 25% travel may be required.
Work Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
