Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse I to join our team at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). As an LPN I, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care and oversight to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and oversight to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Implement individual health care plans, including charting vital signs, applying medical/surgical dressings, and administering medications as prescribed
  • Assist with daily maintenance, personal care, and other services of support as outlined in the Individual Service Plan (ISP)
  • Initiate referrals for needed medical services, including scheduling, hospital safeguarding, advocacy, and other follow-up care
  • Communicate health issues to staff and update individuals' families/guardians in matters including hospitalizations, rehabilitation support, physical/occupational therapy
Requirements
  • Current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
