Job Overview:
The organization is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse RN to join its Long-Term Care team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to residents.

The RN plays a crucial role in the overall care of residents, adhering to care plans, facility protocols, and professional standards while directly overseeing Nursing Assistants.


Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct nursing assessments to evaluate the health status of residents and establish nursing diagnoses that guide care strategies.

- Formulate individualized care plans based on assessments and nursing diagnoses; implement nursing interventions and assess their effectiveness.

- Coordinate outside physician visits to ensure residents' medical requirements are fulfilled.

- Maintain effective communication with physicians and family members to address resident needs.

- Provide education to residents, families, and staff to promote understanding of care plans.

- Advocate for and implement resident rights and choices philosophy.

- Administer and document routine and emergency medications and treatments as prescribed.

- Exhibit knowledge of medications and their potential side effects.

- Ensure clinical records are accurately maintained for continuity and quality of care.

- Implement safety and infection control measures to maintain a secure and hygienic environment for residents and staff.

- Participate in the Quality Management program as part of the interdisciplinary team to uphold care standards within the facility.

- Serve as the primary contact on assigned shifts, effectively supervising resident assistants to ensure adherence to care plans.

- Demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, including initiating IVs, administering initial medications, and managing central lines and catheters.
