Job Title: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Exercise Physiology

We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Exercise Physiology tenure-track faculty member to join our dynamic team at the Ohio University Department of Exercise Physiology.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent and collaborative research focused on healthy aging and disease prevention across the lifespan as related to exercise performance. They will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, seek external funding, and contribute to the department's teaching mission by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in exercise physiology, with a focus on healthy aging and disease prevention across the lifespan
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers to foster innovative research and knowledge sharing
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic pursuits
  • Seek external funding to support research initiatives
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise physiology and related fields
  • Serve on department, college, and university committees
Requirements:
  • Earned doctorate in Exercise Physiology or related field by start date; ABD will be considered
  • A strong record of research productivity, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and/or grant funding, or potential for extramural funding
  • Expertise in relevant areas related to healthy aging and exercise performance across the lifespan (e.g., muscular physiology, cardiovascular health, metabolism, or neuromuscular physiology)
  • Commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education
  • Commitment to involvement in professional organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional work experience in the field of exercise physiology or exercise science
  • Possession of associated credentials (e.g., ACSM, NSCA certifications)
