Recreation Leader

The Recreation Leader will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities for children ages 5-14. This includes leading sports, crafts, games, and field trips, as well as supervising children and enforcing safety rules and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and supervise recreational activities, including sports, crafts, games, and field trips.
- Supervise children and enforce safety rules and guidelines.
- Resolve conflicts among children.
- Monitor activities within a facility and/or outside and provide information to the public on program activities.
- Respond to parent, school, or community concerns and issues and direct to higher level staff as necessary.
- Perform first aid as necessary.
- Knowledge of general recreation principles and practices.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of age-appropriate recreation activities.
- Ability to learn recreation activities, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to respond to requests and inquiries from the general public.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Some experience with youth recreation programs or childcare settings is desirable.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within six months of hire date.
- Unofficial transcript indicating a minimum of 48 college units or more.
