Job Summary
As the Director of Emergency Services and Critical Care at Johns Hopkins Medicine, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and patient education for the Emergency Department and Critical Care (ICU/ACC).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and appropriate patient care, ensuring high-quality services that meet the needs of our patients and their families.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels and participatory opportunities for staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Identify and improve faulty processes, encouraging innovation and change to enhance the delivery of patient care services.
- Recruit, hire, and support new employees to maximize their potential and productivity, ensuring a skilled and dedicated team.
- Manage and direct the day-to-day bed capacity activities of the hospital, ensuring efficient patient flow and optimal resource utilization.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, service growth, and financial success of the services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing or a Health Care related field preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia; Certification in area of specialty required or within 1 year of hire.
- Advanced administrative skills, acquired through at least seven (7) years in an acute care setting, including nursing practice, education, and leadership experience. Critical Care & Emergency Department experience strongly preferred. Strong fiscal skills.
- Current CPR Certification required.
