The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department. This position is responsible for coordinating all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift, collaborating with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing with a current, valid license in the State of New Hampshire or Compact State.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated teaching ability required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a diverse audience.
- Ability to set priorities, exercise initiative and judgement, and make decisions within scope of assigned authority.
- Ability to prioritize work and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a broad understanding of both theory and clinical practice.
- Advanced preparation in clinical specialty or management is desirable.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- 5 or more years' clinical experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
