Position Overview

The Personal Care Assistant plays a vital role in delivering essential support, personal care, and companionship to clients in their residences and various environments. This role may involve accompanying clients on outings, assisting with meal preparation, performing light housekeeping duties, and providing medication reminders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Brooks Rehabilitation.
  • Ensure respectful and dignified treatment of clients and their families while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Stay attuned to the needs of clients, providing care that is suitable for their condition and age.
  • Report any observed changes in client status and responses to the Administrative Team and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Engage professionally and appropriately with Team Coordinators, Schedulers, and Managers.

Qualifications

  • Genuine compassion for others.
  • A commitment to caring for seniors and/or vulnerable adults in home or facility settings.
  • Current BLS CPR Certification is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with proof of auto insurance is necessary for traveling to client locations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screening and Level 2 background check.
  • Completion of a home health aide or nursing aide educational program is preferred. A current Certified Nursing Assistant license or Home Health Certification is also preferred.
