Rescar Companies is seeking a skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our team in San Antonio. As a key member of our rail maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing defective or worn components on railcar equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in railcar equipment, including truck assembly, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems
- Repair and replace defective or worn components, ensuring safe and proper operation
- Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Clean units and components to ensure optimal performance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards and company policies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a mechanical repair or maintenance role
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
