Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the school lunch service and ensuring a safe and efficient dining experience for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor students and maintain a positive and respectful environment in the lunchroom.
  • Organize students into orderly lines for food purchase and assist with food product opening.
  • Ensure proper disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils.
  • Participate in cleaning and sanitizing tables and chairs after each lunch service.
  • Report any physical confrontations or incidents to management and resolve minor issues as needed.
  • Comply with all health department requirements for safe food handling and client location security protocols.
  • Check and store incoming supplies, follow break schedules, and participate in ware washing if assigned.
  • Manage POS/cash handling if applicable for the position.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support the goals, objectives, and mission statement set forth by Whitsons Culinary Group.
  • Comply with all requirements of the mandated food handling certification.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must complete all company and other mandated training as necessary.
Physical Demands of the Job

  • Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Be standing on feet majority of the workday in addition to walking back and forth.
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line.
  • Standing most of the workday is required.
  • Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
