Overview
The Principal Architect – Network is a key member of the Foot Locker, Inc. team, responsible for driving the company's network architecture vision and ensuring alignment across various cross-functional teams. This role requires a deep understanding of the enterprise architecture and the ability to develop a network strategy that supports the company's overall vision.
Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate the current enterprise architectural network vision, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches and creating models to communicate the strategic direction.
- Provide leadership and guidance on network integration methods, staying current with the latest industry technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Design WAN and public cloud connectivity solutions that ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Develop standards for network automation frameworks and software-defined networks (SDN) to improve agility, scalability, and flexibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to identify requirements, evaluate options, perform risk analysis, and implement business rules that support the overall data strategy.
- Provide guidance and leadership on solution architecture and strategies across various departments throughout the enterprise.
- Work closely with various departments across the enterprise to maintain architectural standards and implement business rules.
- Assist Network Leadership in providing support and mentoring to the engineering team, fostering accountability throughout the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum 12 years' cumulative experience in network engineering, including Data Center, WAN Edge, SDN, CDN, and multi-cloud connectivity.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end application flow management and Out-Of-band network.
- Experience in various network management tools, application-to-network integration/dependencies, and business processes.
- Strong conceptual, logical, and physical network architecture design experience in LAN, WAN, Data Center, and Firewall.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with great interpersonal dispositions and communication skills.
- Expert-level knowledge of various Network protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EVPN, EIGRP.
- CCNP and PCNSE Certification.
- Cloud Certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer).
Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $148,000 - $185,000.
