Sunrise Vista Behavioral Health - Psychiatric Nursing Manager / RN

Job Summary:

Sunrise Vista Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced RN to serve as Nursing Manager in our therapeutic hospital setting providing care and treatment to patients who are mentally ill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning and delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care consistent with the facility's goals and objectives.
  • Staffing, leading in assigned nursing administration areas such as Infection Control, maintaining needed supplies, Staff Education and competency review.
  • Provide immediate supervision when on the patient floor and act as DON Designee as assigned.
  • Supervise the direct care nursing team, ensure that the inpatient programs are staffed with the appropriate resources to ensure high quality of nursing care delivery.
  • Assist with orientation for new employees and collaborate with nursing staff on maintaining a high level of service and quality medical care.

Requirements:

  • RN with a current nursing license as required by Ohio State Law.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current CPR license.
  • At least 3-5 years of previous clinical experience performing a variety of personal care, nursing care, and related technical work, including in psychiatric settings.
  • Prior supervisory experience required (2 years preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of practical nursing principles and practices, patient age groups and the developmental process characteristic of these age groups.
  • Ability to provide care and/or treatment that is appropriate to the age, medical condition, and/or developmental status of the patients served.
  • Ability to observe, record, and report on the general and specific physical and mental conditions of the patients.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with a team of inter-disciplinary professionals, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal and regulatory requirements.
