Nurse Residency Program Coordinator

The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health is designed for new graduate nurses to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. As a Nurse-Resident, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, refining your nursing knowledge and skills while attending quality and core curriculum classes, participating in professional development workshops, and successfully completing clinical competencies and validation requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment: Collect patient data, complete required forms, and identify patient problems/needs, prioritizing tasks and making referrals as necessary.
- Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process, incorporating the plans of other disciplines and continuing care needs, and involving the patient/family in developing or revising the plan.
- Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards, treating patients with compassion and respect, and acting as an advocate and coordinator of patient care with other healthcare personnel.
- Evaluation: Record patient care delivered, making observations related to impending or associated problems, and implementing nursing measures as necessary.
- Leadership: Delegating nursing care to appropriate personnel, integrating cost-effective measures into nursing practice, and recognizing unit problems and taking responsibility for documenting them.
To be eligible for this role, you must have a current RN license in South Carolina and a degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Previous experience is not required, but candidates with greater than 12 months of experience are not eligible.
