Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Specialist

{"Responsibilities": "As an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technologist at MPOWERHealth, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care during surgical procedures. Your expertise will be essential in conducting preoperative assessments, performing intraoperative sensory and motor tests, and interpreting data in real-time. You will also be responsible for completing post-operative reports and billing forms, and for providing accurate and timely documentation of significant events and stages of surgery.
**Patient Consultation and Care**
* Explain test procedures to patients and their families in a clear and concise manner
* Measure and apply recording electrodes accurately and efficiently
**Equipment Setup and Maintenance**
* Calibrate and evaluate equipment to optimize recording and stimulation parameters
* Implement troubleshooting methods to ensure accurate recording of information
**Intraoperative Monitoring and Documentation**
* Interact with surgical teams and surgeons to provide interpretive data regarding patient neurological status
* Identify and eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifacts
**Additional Duties**
* Assist new IONM Technologists with training and mentoring
* Attend scientific courses and seminars for continuing education
**Qualifications**
* CNIM or CNIM-eligible certification required
* Valid driver's license
* Bachelor's degree or higher
* Current AHA CPR certification
**Working Conditions**
* Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials
* Use of protective clothing and equipment
* Occasional/frequent travel to healthcare facilities
* Variable work schedules and on-call time
**Reporting Relationship**
* Receives general direction from Director of Operations and Operations Manager
* Provides mentoring and tutorial guidance to IONM Technologist Trainees
