Job Summary

As a Sr. Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department. This is a per diem position, requiring flexibility in your work schedule to meet the needs of the job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, quick, and efficient customer service to a diverse population of guests.
  • Operate a cash register, handle money, and reconcile cash at the end of each meal period.
  • Assist in training new cashiers and maintain a high level of customer service skills.
  • Prepare and portion food products correctly, following standardized recipes and guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to department standards and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including rotating equipment, stocking supplies, and completing additional cleaning projects.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of cash handling experience in a food service or retail setting.
  • One year of previous food service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or equivalent.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers certification preferred.
Skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule and assignments to meet the needs of the job.
  • High level of customer service skills through communication and body language.
  • Ability to work a cash register and handle money.
  • Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Maintain a variable work schedule to meet department needs, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Basic computer skills or ability to learn.
  • Time management and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Anticipates challenges and develops strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery, demonstrating initiative and ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Attention to detail.
