Job Title: General Assembler

GreenPower Motor Company is seeking a skilled General Assembler to join our team in South Charleston, WV. As a General Assembler, you will be responsible for performing parts and material installation and assembly tasks per written and verbal work instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and assemble parts according to special written work instructions, routings, blueprints, and verbal directives.
  • Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace parts as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Keep production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Reading and basic math skills; ability to understand verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Skilled in use of hand tools, shop tools, equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures; machinery and forklift experience are preferred.
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
  • Willingness to attend education training and classes.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to high levels of noise.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
  • Required to drive and may at times work outdoors.
  • Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Qualified candidates will receive on-the-job training and will be required to attend education and training classes at BridgeValley Community & Technical College. Compensation for this position will be in the range of $18 to $20 per hour.
