Surgical Technician Role

The Surgical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and care of surgical patients. Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, this individual is responsible for preparing and assisting with surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures.
  • Perform routine technical and various other duties as required.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent education.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification by an entity accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies required (must be obtained within 12 months of completing the training program).
  • Maintenance of current BLS certification.
  • 1-2 years of Operating Room experience preferred.
