We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Yates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading structural project teams and performing all aspects of design of structural engineering assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead structural project teams and perform all aspects of design of structural engineering assignments
  • Work with multidiscipline project teams throughout the design and construction process to adapt structural plans as needed
  • Manage project budget and schedule
  • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine the simplest, most efficient solution
  • Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates
  • Produce organized detail design calculations for checking by others and as a deliverable when required
  • Check calculations and documents produced by others to ensure accuracy and conformance to codes and specifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
  • PE and/or SE registration is required
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering
  • Experience with industrial projects preferred
  • Knowledgeable in the application of the International Building Code and associated standards
  • Expertise with structural analysis software and CAD software
