About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Per Diem Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team at the Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our Pulmonary Function Laboratory, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of pulmonary function studies and tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease.
  • Assist in the performance of bronchoscopy procedures, preparing patients, setting up equipment, and maintaining instruments.
  • Operate and adjust pulmonary function equipment, observing safety guidelines and ensuring proper operation.
  • Provide patient orientation and respond to patients' needs during testing sessions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and stock clinical supplies.
  • Ensure good working order of equipment and troubleshoot routine equipment problems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong foundation in pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
