Job Description

At Deborah Heart and Lung Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our team as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Program Coordinator. This is a critical role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive VAD program that meets the needs of patients with ventricular assist devices.
  • Collaborate with the Heart Failure Medical Director to ensure seamless coordination of patient care throughout the continuum.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to cardiologists and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate participation in heart failure and mechanical circulatory support clinical research trials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, payers, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or greater in nursing or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nursing and CV post-surgical management.
  • Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse through a specialty association.
  • Prescriptive authority and current CDS and DEA required within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Nursing experience in a cardiac or cardiovascular surgery setting.
  • Experience with VAD devices and related clinical research.
