Key Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience in managing performance engineering initiatives for applications.
  • Expertise in utilizing monitoring tools, particularly Splunk, DataDog, and DynaTrace.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, and Shell scripting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proficiency in Splunk programming.
  • 5-6 years of experience with .NET and Java applications, along with Application Monitoring Tools.
  • Solid understanding of performance tuning and system architecture.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions for cloud-based applications and services.
  • Configuring monitoring systems to gather essential metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Creating custom dashboards and reports using monitoring tools to deliver real-time insights into system performance.
  • Continuously assessing the performance and capacity of cloud infrastructure, proactively addressing scalability challenges.
  • Recommending and executing enhancements to improve system reliability and fault tolerance.
  • Automating operational tasks to optimize processes and minimize manual efforts.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents.
  • Conducting post-incident analyses to identify root causes and implement preventive strategies.
  • Understanding system architecture to identify monitoring gaps and troubleshoot effectively.

Additional Duties:
Further responsibilities include:

  • Configuring and maintaining custom dashboards and alerts across various monitoring platforms.
  • Generating custom reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Developing monitoring scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Shell scripting.
  • Establishing metrics for both business and technical teams to assess system health.
  • Providing on-call support as necessary.
  • Leading performance engineering efforts for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Documenting expected system performance and operational characteristics.
  • Preparing test data for execution and conducting performance tests.
  • Analyzing performance test results and offering recommendations for tuning and stability improvements.
  • Defining strategies for performance diagnostics and monitoring using APM tools.
  • Collaborating with developers to integrate performance engineering throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Facilitating peer reviews to ensure thoroughness in test asset creation.
  • Resolving performance issues in testing environments and reviewing architectural designs for potential risks.
  • Conducting capacity analyses as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in performance engineering and testing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
