Job Title: Process Mechanical Engineer

At Jedson Engineering, we are seeking a highly skilled Process Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading or executing the discipline scope in the completion of client projects.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in process design, mechanical engineering, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for selecting and integrating mechanical/process equipment, generating plant heat/material balances, and reviewing and developing piping systems and Isometric drawings.

As a Process Mechanical Engineer at Jedson Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across various industries, including power, industrial, chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and consumer products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or execute process designs in the form of engineering calculations documented on PFD's, P&ID's, general arrangement drawings, specifications/datasheets, design basis, and associated lists.
  • Select and integrate mechanical/process equipment, including combustion & steam turbines, boilers & HRSG's, emission control equipment, material handling equipment, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, water treatment systems, control valves, & plant instrumentation.
  • Generate plant heat/material balances and water balances.
  • Review and develop piping systems and Isometric drawings.
  • Support control system and logic design for plant DCS systems.
  • Actively participate in our internal quality assurance process by reviewing and checking process/mechanical group and interdisciplinary work products.
  • Support the proposal process by providing scope descriptions, project estimates, and deliverables list.
  • Support the development and growth of key client relationships.

Requirements:

  • BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-10 years of experience in power, industrial, chemicals, petrochemical, pulp and paper, consumer products, or the food and beverage industries.
  • Demonstrated Servant Leadership to include team building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, client relationships, budget, and schedule.
  • Proficient with coordinating and conducting detailed phases of engineering projects to achieve milestones.
  • Experience developing and implementing standards and procedures, consistent with the continuous improvement of quality and productivity.
  • Experience interfacing with clients and supporting marketing and proposal generation efforts.
  • Experience in all phases of process design from conceptual design development through commissioning and validation.
  • Familiarity with piping design requirements and the ability to lead a designer through project execution.
  • Equipment selection including process requirements, data sheets, bid tab analysis, and layout review.
  • Technical skills to include experience in P&ID development, PSV calculations, hydraulic calculations (AFT or equivalent), specification generation, mass and energy balances to include Thermoflex process simulation. Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with piping design codes (ASME B31.1 and B31.3)
