About the Role

The Special Education Teacher will execute a structured assessment, curriculum, instruction, and behavioral framework that is grounded in best practices. Our educators and staff deliver tailored academic and behavioral interventions through an innovative educational approach, personalized support, and all essential services to help students succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Instruct students in knowledge and skills, foster confidence and character, and address the needs of all learners by utilizing SESI instructional models, strategies, and curriculum
  • Create and sustain individualized lesson plans that balance standards-based and skills-based instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Implement the school's behavioral support and intervention strategies
  • Maintain student documentation and records as mandated by SESI, local, state, and/or federal regulations, including but not limited to: Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans, Incident Reports, High-Risk Evaluation Forms, etc.
  • Monitor, document, and assess student progress towards academic, social, and emotional objectives
  • Oversee students to ensure they are continuously supervised, including during transitions within the school
  • Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be necessary.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education preferred; bachelor's degree accepted
  • Special Education certification preferred
  • Dedication to learning and applying feedback
  • Ability to adapt and maintain flexibility
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
