Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Education Professional to join our team at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. As a Preschool Teacher and Program Leader, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality educational experience for young children, promoting their social, cultural, educational, physical, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation: Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum, aligned with NAEYC and DEEC standards.
  • Classroom Management and Supervision: Supervise children, classroom, Teacher Assistants, and all activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Child Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child, maintaining accurate records and communicating with parents.
  • Parent Communication and Engagement: Conduct parent conferences, maintain positive relationships, and engage parents as volunteers.
  • Classroom Maintenance and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped classroom, adhering to regulations and standards.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration: Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events, contributing to the overall mission of the YMCA.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Meets educational and experience qualifications established by DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS, including EEC Preschool Teacher Certification.
  • Age and Physical Requirements: At least 18 years of age, with the ability to physically participate in children's activities and evacuation drills.
  • Certifications and Training: Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention, as well as a negative Mantoux test and immunity from measles, mumps, and rubella.

  • Competitive Salary: $18.50-$22.00/hour, depending on education, experience, and certifications.
